OS continues to help establish schools and provide technical and grant assistance to meet the educational needs of school-age dependents of U.S. Government personnel and other Americans assigned to newly established U.S. missions as well as to posts with a growing American presence. OS helped to establish two new schools, one in 2007 and one in 2009

  • Rwanda, Kigali The International School of Kigali (prekindergarten through grade 12) opened in 2009 with support of the U.S. Embassy and OS. At the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, it had an enrollment of 160 students.
  • Liberia, Monrovia The American International School of Monrovia (preschool through grade 9) opened in September 2007 with the support of the U.S. Embassy, the Government of Liberia and the international community. At the beginning of the 2010-2011 school year, it had an enrollment of 42 students.
