Date: 03/12/2014 Description: Women's History Month 2014: Jacqueline Jones - State Dept Image Jacqueline Jones is currently one of the Deputy Directors for the Bureaus of Educational and Cultural Affairs and International Information Programs which provides professional information technology, human resources, budget, grants, program management, support services, and procurement support for 1,000 clients. She has been a Civil Service employee for nearly 19 years and has worked in various federal agencies such as Department of Navy, Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of State. Ms. Jones began her federal career with the Naval Air Systems Command Outstanding Scholars Contract Intern Program. Jacqueline served as a warranted contracting officer for over 10 years.

Ms. Jones is an honor’s graduate from North Carolina Central University (NCCU) in Durham, North Carolina with a bachelor’s of business administration. Jacqueline earned a master’s degree in international management and finance from the University of Maryland, University College in College Park, Maryland. She is Department of Defense Acquisitions Workforce Improvement Act Level III certified.

Jacqueline’s executive development accomplishments include Department of State's Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program (2014) and Naval Air Systems Command's Senior Executive Management Development Program (2005).

She is a formal mentor in the Department of State-USAID Mentoring Program and enjoys helping others accomplish their professional and personal goals. As a faithful member of her church, she serves on the finance, hospitality, and nurses ministries. She is an active member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and raises thousands of dollars for scholarships and community service programs. Jacqueline is a freelance poet and published her first book of poetry “Aesthetic Words to Hold”.
