Press Statement
John Kerry
Secretary of State
Washington, DC
February 25, 2014

The United States congratulates the government and people of Kuwait as they celebrate their 53rd anniversary of independence and 23rd anniversary of liberation.
As we continue to build on decades of close personal ties between the United States and Kuwait, including through the thousands of Kuwaiti students in U.S. schools and the tens of thousands of U.S. citizens living and working in Kuwait, we are reminded of the importance of the U.S.-Kuwait partnership to both nations’ security and prosperity.
We look forward to working with Kuwait well into the future as we build on our strong relationship and address the many shared issues we face. We extend our best wishes to all Kuwaitis for a year of peace and happiness.
