Secretary of State John Kerry is scheduled to deliver keynote remarks at the second annual Foreign Policy Strategic Forum, “Transformational Trends 2014 and Beyond,” on December 11 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, D.C.

The Secretary will also take questions from Forum participants.

The FP Group, publisher of Foreign Policy, in conjunction with the U.S. Department of State’s Policy Planning Staff, will host the event. It is aimed at highlighting global transformational trends and the leadership role the United States must play.

U.S. Deputy National Security Advisor and Assistant to the President Antony Blinken will deliver opening remarks, framing the day of panel discussions with numerous distinguished individuals.

David McKean, Director, Policy Planning Staff, U.S. Department of State, will moderate a discussion focusing on flashpoints and emerging trends of the year ahead.

Former National Security Advisor Tom Donilon will join David Rothkopf for a panel titled, “Shaping a Strategic Framework for a Secure America in 2014,” focusing on critical issues and emerging trends the U.S. will have to contend with as it shapes its international policies for the year and decade ahead.

This one-day high-level forum will connect over 200 U.S. government policy makers and global thought leaders of many disciplines to address the most important drivers reshaping global affairs.

Topics of discussion will include “Rethinking the Greater Middle East,” “The Changing Nature of the Trans-Atlantic Alliance,” and “America in Asia.”
