Assistant Secretary for Conflict and Stabilization Operations Rick Barton will deliver the keynote address at the Center for Strategic & International Studies’ event, “Rethinking Civilian Stabilization and Reconstruction,” on July 16, 2013. The event will discuss support, funding, and capabilities of U.S. civilian institutions to respond to major crises and political transitions—and how important that capacity is to U.S. foreign policy.

The Assistant Secretary will deliver remarks at 3:15 p.m., at Center for Strategic & International Studies’ offices, 1800 K St. NW, Washington, DC 20006. This event will be open to the press.
