Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Tom Kelly travels to Brazil June 2-6 to lead the U.S. Delegation to the 2013 U.S.-Brazil Political-Military Dialogue.

The U.S.-Brazil Political-Military Dialogue reflects our shared commitment to strengthen bilateral defense and security relations. This meeting will review opportunities for cooperation in advance of Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff’s visit to Washington and meeting with President Obama later this year.

The dialogue will build on the success of our 2012 Dialogue held in Washington, D.C., and will cover a broad array of political-military topics including continuing efforts to enhance partnerships in security cooperation, joint engagements and exchanges, defense trade, and peacekeeping, as well as technology transfer, counter-piracy, and cyber-security.
