On March 29, President Koroma of Sierra Leone, President Sall of Senegal, President Banda of Malawi and Prime Minister Neves of Cape Verde will participate in a panel discussion at the U.S. Institute for Peace titled “Consolidating Democratic Gains, Promoting African Prosperity” to discuss how to take advantage of opportunities based on the positive outcomes of democracy. This event will be moderated by Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs Johnnie Carson.

The U. S Institute for Peace is located 2301 Constitution Avenue, NW Washington, DC 20037. Journalists with equipment should arrive at 7:00am through the vendor entrance off 23rd street. Other media arrive at Main Entrance on 23rd street by 8:05am. Parking is not available at USIP.

This event will be webcast live at 9:00am in English here plus carried on the State Department BNet, which will replay the event again at 11:00am. The State Department, Office of Broadcast Services will broadcast in English at 11:00am via AVOC. French and Portuguese audio links will be available via StateOnDemand in the afternoon. At 4:00pm- 5:15pm, the State Department Satellite Channel will broadcast in English along with other programming and the entire event will later be available on http://State.gov.
