Stephen Krupin serves as policy advisor and chief speechwriter to Secretary of State John Kerry. He previously was the director of speechwriting on President Obama’s re-election campaign, senior staff writer on the 2013 Presidential Inaugural Committee, chief speechwriter to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Leader Reid’s press secretary, and a Florida press secretary on President Obama’s 2008 campaign. Stephen was also a writer, spokesman and strategist on public affairs campaigns for Fortune 500 companies as a media relations and crisis communications associate at APCO Worldwide, and worked as a reporter and copy editor at a number of news organizations in Washington and Chicago. He graduated from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, earned a master’s degree from the School of Media and Public Affairs at The George Washington University, and is a Fellow at the Truman National Security Project. In 2009, Sports Illustrated named Stephen the “Unluckiest Fan in America.”
