December 2012: Ambassador Rapp Speaking Engagements

Ambassador Rapp spoke at three events in December 2012.

• A lecture to the Bar Association of the City of New York (not webcast). Ambassador Rapp spoke about prosecutions of atrocity crimes at the national level in Africa (specifically the DRC), the ICC in Africa, the Special Court of Sierra Leone, and the ICTR.
  
• A panel at the Asia Society, with Philip Alston, moderated by Warren Hoge. The topic was accountability and reconciliation in Asia. Ambassador Rapp and Philip Alston discussed the ECCC, Sri Lanka, Burma, Kyrgyzstan, China, Japan, and a few other countries.
  
• A panel sponsored by NYU and ICTJ on prosecutions of atrocity crimes at the national level in Serbia, DRC, Iraq, and Guatemala, with David Tolbert, Paul Seils, Jennifer Trahan, and Djordje Djordjevic. Ambassador Rapp’s remarks centered around the DRC.

In addition, Ambassador Rapp was interviewed by Hannah Dunphy of the ICTJ for an audio podcast, as part of the ICTJ’s website project on the legacy of the SCSL.
