Question: What, if any, is the State Department’s involvement regarding an Argentine-flagged vessel that is currently detained at port in Ghana?

Answer: The State Department was not involved in the detention of the Libertad. We understand that a legal proceeding between a private party and Argentina is ongoing in the Ghanaian court system. This is a matter between Argentina and Ghana and we expect both countries to resolve this matter amicably.
