Remarks
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of State
Washington, DC
October 22, 2012

Hello again! I’m delighted to send greetings to you while you are visiting one of my favorite places. I have had the great fortune of traveling the world as Secretary of State, but I will never forget the natural beauty of Arkansas and the generous spirit of the people who live there. It is a perfect place for you to Experience America.

Through this program, you’re meeting people and visiting places that you might otherwise miss. You’re connecting with some of our top leaders in business and civil society, and learning about some of the innovative projects they are working on. And your visit provides a great opportunity to build new relationships between our country and yours.

Over the next few days you will meet with business leaders from Central and Northwest Arkansas; visit one of the places near and dear to my heart, the Arkansas Children’s Hospital; learn about the role of art in Arkansas’s heritage; visit the Governor’s Mansion, which I had the good fortune of living in with my husband when he was serving the people of Arkansas as Governor; experience the Clinton Presidential Center, which I think is an extraordinary place to learn about the history of America and the world during the 8 years of Bill’s Presidency; travel to Fayetteville, where I first moved, one of the prettiest places in America, see the famous Arkansas Razorbacks; and visit one of our newest attractions, the Crystal Bridges Museum.

But most importantly, you will meet some of the kindest, most creative people that the United States has to offer. Arkansas may be a small state, but it has a big heart. I hope through your conversations in the coming days, you build those new relationships and partnerships that will take us into the future. I cherish the memories I made in Arkansas, and I look forward to hearing about the ones you will be making on this exciting trip.
