Engaging With Local European Leaders on Rio+20

In conjunction with the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs, the Office of the Special Representative for Global Intergovernmental Affairs hosted a “Smart Partnership Dialogue: Global Engagement Series” for Michele Sabban, president, Assembly of European Regions (AER), and president, R20, and an AER delegation for a half-day meeting in the Department. Ms. Sabban and her delegation met with Special Representative Lewis and representatives from the White House, state and local associations, and nongovernmental organizations to discuss sustainability and the UN Conference on Sustainable Development: Rio+20.
