On June 4, Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns and Nigerian Foreign Minister Olugbenga Ashiru will launch the seventh gathering of the U.S.-Nigeria Binational Commission, June 4-5 at the United States Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C.

On Monday, June 4 at 9:30 a.m., Deputy Secretary Burns and Foreign Minister Ashiru will deliver opening remarks. On Tuesday, June 5 at 2:15 p.m., Deputy Secretary Burns and Nigerian Permanent Secretary Uhomoibhi will deliver closing remarks. A press conference at the conclusion of the meeting will take place on Tuesday, June 5 at 2:45 p.m. The opening, closing, and press conference are open to credentialed members of the media.

Monday, June 4
9:30 to 10:10 – Opening Session
Pre-set time for cameras is 9:00 a.m.

Tuesday, June 5
2:15 to 2:35 – Closing Remarks and Signing
2:45 to 2:50 – Press Conference
Pre-set time for cameras is 1:45 p.m.
