Deputy Secretary Thomas R. Nides will travel to Mexico City, Merida, and Cancun May 15-17, 2012. During his trip, the Deputy Secretary will focus on global tourism and bilateral and regional economic cooperation and prosperity.

In Mexico City, Deputy Secretary Nides will meet with Mexican Government officials and business leaders to discuss the U.S.-Mexico economic relationship. He will also deliver remarks at the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America “Business Futures of Latin America” conference and participate in a Health Care Technology, Policy and Trade Mission reception.

In Merida and Cancun, Deputy Secretary Nides will represent the United States at the G20 Tourism Ministerial (T20) and discuss U.S. tourism and travel promotion efforts at the World Travel and Tourism Council’s (WTTC) Americas Summit. He will also visit U.S. Consulate General Merida.
