Deputy Secretary Burns to Deliver Remarks at the 42nd Conference on the Americas
Notice to the Press
Deputy Secretary of State Bill Burns will deliver remarks at the 42nd Washington Conference on the Americas, co-hosted by the U.S. Department of State and Council of the Americas, at 9 a.m. on May 8, 2012 at the U.S. Department of State.
This year’s conference, “Global Recovery: The Regional View,” will also feature remarks by Assistant Secretary for Western Hemisphere Affairs Roberta S. Jacobson, Speaker of the House of Representatives John Boehner, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano, and U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk. The full program can be found here.

Morning Session
Pre-set time for cameras is 7:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.
First access time for journalists and still photographers is 8 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.
Final access time for all press is 10 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.
Luncheon Session
Press access from 23rd Street at 1:10 p.m. and from the Loy Henderson Auditorium at 1:20 p.m.
Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) A U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification card (driver's license or passport). Please allow adequate time to process through security.
