Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Jose W. Fernandez will speak on Wednesday, March 28, at a program titled, “Partnership for Growth: A New Model for USG Engagement on Development?” The program will discuss a new model for the United States to engage with a select group of countries to accelerate and sustain broad-based economic growth.

The Assistant Secretary will then join a conversation with representatives from USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and other U.S. agencies involved in the partnership as well as representatives from the first set of Partnership for Growth countries: El Salvador, Ghana, the Philippines, and Tanzania.

The event begins at 2 p.m. at the Center for Global Development, 1800 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Room 1026, in Washington, DC. Media wishing to attend should send their name and affiliation to no later than 5 p.m. on March 27, 2012.
