Assistant Secretary Fernandez to Speak on Partnership for Growth at the Center for Global Development

Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs Jose W. Fernandez will speak on Wednesday, March 28, at a program titled, “Partnership for Growth: A New Model for USG Engagement on Development?” The program will discuss a new model for the United States to engage with a select group of countries to accelerate and sustain broad-based economic growth.

The Assistant Secretary will then join a conversation with representatives from USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, and other U.S. agencies involved in the partnership as well as representatives from the first set of Partnership for Growth countries: El Salvador, Ghana, the Philippines, and Tanzania.

The event begins at 2 p.m. at the Center for Global Development, 1800 Massachusetts Ave, NW, Room 1026, in Washington, DC. Media wishing to attend should send their name and affiliation to EPPDMediaRSVP@state.gov no later than 5 p.m. on March 27, 2012.
