Remarks
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Secretary of State
Washington, DC
March 1, 2012

Hello again! I hope you all are enjoying yourselves as you kick off your stay in Los Angeles. Over the next couple of days, you will have the chance to explore one of America’s great cities. And I can think of no one better than my friend Mayor Villaraigosa to show you the best of L.A., the perfect place for this type of exchange.

Experience America trips like this one are critical to strengthening the diplomatic and economic relationships between our countries.

You will have the chance to learn about the city’s vibrant past, and the cultural and economic potential of the future. As Mayor Villaraigosa says, “Los Angeles is where the world creates and innovates.”

While you’re here, I encourage you to turn to your neighbor, learn about what they do, and discover new ways to work together in the future. With collaboration and cooperation through programs like this, anything is possible.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip, soak up some of that famous California sunshine, and I look forward to seeing you in Washington soon to discuss more ways for our countries to work together.
