Williams, a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, joined the Department of State as a Presidential Management Intern in 1997. Over the course of his 14-year career, he has held a series of management and policy related civil service assignments ranging from auditing of consular programs to money laundering issues to negotiating multilateral issues in the Organization of American States. Mr. Williams is currently the Executive Secretary in the Office of the Haiti Special Coordinator and oversees the office’s management portfolio.

Mr. Williams has received a number of Department honor awards and currently serves as president of the Thursday Luncheon Group, the Department’s oldest affinity group. Along with his ongoing professional responsibilities, Mr. Williams enjoys mentoring of students interested in careers in international affairs and networking among officers across inter-agencies. Mr. Williams earned a bachelor of arts degree in political science and a master of public administration degree from Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA.
