Remarks
Clifford Hart
Special Envoy to the Six-Party-Talks
U.S. Mission to the United Nations
Geneva, Switzerland
October 24, 2011

Good Afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen. My name is Clifford Hart. I am the U.S. Special Envoy to the Six-Party Talks. Thanks for coming out today. I will have just a few very short comments to make to you. I’m sorry that I won’t be able to take any questions afterwards. I just wanted to let you know that the U.S. and DPRK delegations met this morning starting at 10 o’clock for about two hours. We had a coffee break. We had initial presentations of our respective positions. I think these were useful presentations. The delegations broke for lunch. The DPRK delegation will be returning soon to the U.S. Mission here in Geneva. We will meet for another couple of hours, perhaps a little bit more, depends on the conversation. We will then break again. And then finally this evening the DPRK delegation will return to the U.S. Mission for dinner. The U.S. Delegation is led by Ambassador Stephen Bosworth, the U.S. Special Representative for North Korea Policy. The DPRK Delegation is of course led by First Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan. Ambassador Bosworth will host this evening’s dinner. Thank you very much.
