Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month 2011: Samuel Soto
Samuel Soto, born in Puerto Rico, is currently employed for the Human Resources Bureau as a configuration management analyst. His day-to-day duties include the management of processes required for the migration and implementation of software and hardware changes that affect personnel in the Executive Office. He has over 15 years of experience in the information technology field which includes consulting, administration, information security, project management, and software development for government enterprise systems overseas and the continental United States as well as private companies in Puerto Rico. His experience has taken him to multiple geographical locations that include Japan, South Korea, Guam, Singapore, and Diego Garcia.
Samuel Soto is currently pursuing his master's in business administration from Wayne State College and hopes to pursue a career as a Foreign Service officer in the near future. His hobbies include geocaching, sightseeing, working out, and learning Japanese. He loves the challenges offered by the Department of State and seeks to further improve his departmental knowledge while continuing to provide courteous and professional service.
