U.S. Department of State Hosts Tech@State: Data Visualization Conference
The U.S. Department of State will host a conference featuring innovative and intriguing visualization techniques at Tech@State: Data Visualization on September 23-24, 2011.
The first day of the event, Friday, September 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., will be held in the Atrium and Foyers at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, 2700 F Street NW, Washington, DC 20566. It will feature government and non-government speakers and data visualization experts assembled from throughout the nation. The second day, Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., will take place at the Microsoft Innovation and Policy Center, 901 K Street NW, Washington, DC 20001, and will feature an all-day “unconference,” at which attendees will generate their own agenda based on the interests and expertise of the crowd.
Participants and conference leaders include representatives from commercial data analysis and visualization companies, international agencies, nonprofits, and academic institutions. A conference event schedule and the speaker's biographies can be reviewed here.
Registration is free and open to the general public. Attendees will need to reserve tickets for each day. Reservations for the September 23 conference can be made at the following link, Day 1, and for the September 24 unconference through the following link, Day 2.
