Remarks
James B. Steinberg
Deputy Secretary of State
Seoul, South Korea
June 4, 2009

Our meetings today confirmed what I have sensed since we arrived in Seoul -- that this is an incredibly strong relationship between the United States and South Korea, that we have many important issues in common, in addition to dealing with the challenge of North Korea. We talked about our common work in dealing with the global economic crisis and how we’re working together to create a more stable, peaceful and prosperous world. I’m delighted and I’ve been really grateful to have such a warm reception from so many senior officials here in South Korea and looking forward to seeing the President shortly. Thanks very much.
