Travel of Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman

Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman will travel to Amman, Jordan, on May 2-4. During his visit he will meet with King Abdullah, Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Jafar Hassan, and members of civil society. Assistant Secretary Feltman will continue the bilateral dialogue that Secretary Clinton and Foreign Minister Judeh held in Washington, D.C. in April, and discuss King Abdullah’s reform agenda. He will also discuss regional issues, including the situation in Libya and cooperation on Middle East peace negotiations. On May 4-6, Assistant Secretary Feltman will join Secretary Clinton in Rome to participate in a meeting of the Libya Contact Group.
