Media Registration and Accommodation Information for the APEC Ministerial Meetings
Notice to the Press
The State Department is now accepting media registration applications for the APEC Ministerial meetings in Big Sky, Montana. The meetings will take place May 18-21, 2011 at the Big Sky Resort. All media covering the meetings must hold a valid registration pass.
Register using the Press Registration Application Form at https://press.state.gov/APEC/.
The deadline to submit press registration applications is FRIDAY, MAY 6, 2011 (11:59 p.m. EST).
Please note that this application is for media registration only. Official photographers who are travelling with their country’s delegation are required to contact their embassy for credential applications.
Your registration will not be processed if the required information and format are incorrect.
Note: Journalists who are not American citizens and are issued a registration pass must have a valid “I” visa or work permit (“Green Card”) to work in the United States, even for a short period. Please consult the U.S. Embassy or Consulate closest to you about obtaining an “I” visa.
Registered members of the press may pick up their registration pass starting Wednesday,
May 18. Times and location will be announced soon.
There will be a press filing center at the Big Sky Resort open from May 18-21, 2011. Only registered members of the press will be allowed access to the filing center and press events.
Official Ministerial press events will be pool press coverage unless otherwise noted due to significant space limitations; however, any media outlet will be able to access all APEC host video at no cost for their broadcast purposes via an FTP site to be identified in a later media note. APEC host video will also be provided to APTN, Reuters and Eurovision.
All journalists registered to cover the Ministerial meetings can cover the open press events.
The official media program is listed at the end of this note. There may be additional media events sponsored by individual economies/Ministers. These will be announced throughout the Ministerial meeting.

Two hotel properties have been blocked for members of the press covering the meetings in Big Sky. Both properties are conveniently located approximately 10 minutes by car from the meeting venues at the Big Sky Resort. Below is a description of each property and the reservation process.
The Whitewater Inn is located only 10 miles away from Big Sky Resort. This hotel features a pool, spa, guest laundry, an exercise room and meeting rooms. Guests will enjoy standard hotel rooms equipped with free wireless internet access, voicemail, free local calls, coffee makers, irons and ironing boards. Rates and Amenities: Complimentary continental breakfast is included in the hotel rate. A standard single hotel room is $135/night plus applicable taxes. Some rooms are able to accommodate up to four individuals. Each additional individual in a single room is $15/person per night.
Transportation: A complimentary shuttle will take guests to and from the Whitewater Inn to the meeting venue at Big Sky Resort.
Since the Whitewater Inn is a property within the Big Sky Resort’s management, reservations may be made by phone or on the resort’s website. Press must reference the following group code and designate they will be staying at the Whitewater Inn when making a reservation.

By phone: Call Big Sky Resort Central Reservations at 1-800-548-4486 and reference your group code. The resort is open between from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday – Friday, and 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, Saturday and Sunday, Mountain Standard Time (MST).

Buck’s T-4 Lodge
Buck’s T-4 Lodge is located in the scenic Gallatin Canyon area of Big Sky and is located only 10 miles away from the meeting venue, Big Sky Resort. This full-service hotel features one and two bed guest rooms, which include free wireless internet, microwave/refrigerator and satellite television. The property offers a full-service restaurant and bar and variety of meeting rooms. Further information can be found at www.buckst4.com
Rates and Amenities: Rates include a full hot breakfast and parking. The rate for a standard single or double hotel room is $125/night plus applicable taxes. Each additional guest is $20/night.
