Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Assistant Secretary Ann Stock will travel to Kuwait and Iraq March 16-22, 2011.

While in Kuwait, Assistant Secretary Stock will meet with U.S. Mission and Kuwaiti government officials to review bilateral exchanges as well as meet with Kuwaiti program participants and alumni.

While In Iraq, Assistant Secretary Stock will co-chair the inaugural meeting of Iraq – U.S. Cultural, Educational and Scientific Cooperation Joint Coordination Committee, a key component of bilateral cooperation under the U.S.-Iraq Strategic Framework Agreement. Assistant Secretary Stock will also join Ambassador James Jeffrey to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the Fulbright Program in Iraq, a significant milestone in the history of U.S.-Iraq educational exchange and cooperation.

During the Iraq portion of her travel, Assistant Secretary Stock will meet with cultural and educational exchange participants and alumni, including of the Fulbright Program, the International Visitor Leadership Program and the Iraq Young Leaders Exchange Program; visit national cultural and academic institutions, and meet with government officials.

Assistant Secretary Stock will return to Washington on March 22, 2011.
