Secretary Clinton to Attend Launch of Global Partnership on Maternal and Child Health

On March 9, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the Government of Norway, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Grand Challenges Canada, and The World Bank will announce a new partnership that will seek innovative solutions to reduce maternal and child mortality in developing countries.
Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, USAID Administrator Rajiv Shah and Melinda Gates, Co-Founder and Co-Chair of The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, will deliver remarks at the event at approximately 9:00 a.m. on March 9 in the Rotunda Room of the Ronald Reagan Building.

Dr. Tore Godal, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Norway, Peter Singer, CEO Grand Challenges Canada, and Ngozi Ikonjo-Iweala, Managing Director World Bank Group will participate in a panel discussion following the opening remarks.
