Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Judith A. McHale will speak to participants at the opening and closing sessions of the 2010 U.S. Summit & Initiative for Global Citizen Diplomacy in Washington, D.C. from November 16-19, 2010.

The Summit, organized by the U.S. Center for Citizen Diplomacy (USCCD) and co-sponsored by the Department of State, supports the work of more than 1,100 nongovernmental organizations conducting citizen diplomacy activities. Most Summit events will take place at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Independence Ballroom, 1000 H Street, NW, Washington, D.C. However, the closing session on November 19 will be held in the Dean Acheson Auditorium of the U.S. Department of State.

For reporters covering Under Secretary McHale’s closing remarks, set-up time for cameras will be at 8:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance. Final access time for writers and still photographers will be 9:15 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.

Media representatives may attend this event upon presentation of one of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
