Deputy Secretary of State James B. Steinberg will deliver keynote remarks on “Rising Powers and Global Institutions: World Order in the 21st Century” at the Council on Foreign Relations on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at 11:15 a.m. Following his remarks, Deputy Steinberg will be available to answer questions from the audience.

The symposium will look at the challenges and opportunities of rising powers and shifting world order for global governance and institutional reform. The event also will explore the implications for global economic governance and the nonproliferation regime posed by rising powers.

This event is open to the press.
