Assistance Goals: United States (U.S.) assistance to Tajikistan encourages economic growth, strengthens the health and education systems and develops democratic processes. U.S assistance also builds Tajikistan’s law enforcement and border control capacity. The U.S. Government (USG) supports a Tajikistan that is secure in its own borders, committed to economic and political reforms and able to provide for the well-being of its citizens.

Peace and Security (PS): FY 2008: $10.40M; FY 2009: $9.40M

Governing Justly and Democratically (GJD): FY 2008: $6.53M; FY 2009: 5.90M

Investing in People (IIP): FY 2008: $5.18M; FY 2009: $6.39M

Economic Growth (EG): FY 2008: $7.63M; FY 2009: $7.42M

Humanitarian Assistance (HA): FY 2008: $1.02M; FY 2009: $6.89M
