Date: 02/10/2010 Description: 2010 Black History Month: Justin Davis - State Dept Image

A 25 year old native of Atlanta, Justin E. Davis seeks to travel further from home by joining the Foreign Service.

Mr. Davis attended Cornell University on a full scholarship in the Fall of 2003. He graduated with a degree in Government and Policy Studies, African American History and a Law in Society concentration. After leaving Cornell in 2007, he was accepted as a United States Pickering Fellow and attended Georgetown University where he received his Master’s in Public Policy.

Now a political officer, Mr. Davis is geared up and ready to head out to Monterrey, Mexico for his first post in the consular section. After having served as an intern in the Africa Bureau in the office of West African Affairs and then at Embassy Accra, Ghana during President Obama’s visit, the State Department is certainly not a new endeavor for him.

He is excitedly learning Spanish and hopes to reach his goal of visiting each livable continent at least once. Mr. Davis proudly represents the 148th A-100 Class.
