The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) and the Bureau of Administration announced today the award of a $209 million contract to build a New Office Annex (NOX) and housing to be located at the Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The New Office Annex and housing will be constructed by a joint venture of ECC International Constructors (ECCI-C JV) and Tepe-Metag JV of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

The project consists of a New Office Annex which will accommodate and Phase I of the housing. The NOX and the housing will provide safe, secure and functional facilities for the employees who will work and will reside at the embassy.

The scheduled completion date for the New Office Annex and housing is February 2012.
