Remarks
Todd Stern
Special Envoy for Climate Change
Moralos, Mexico
June 24, 2009

Our proposal involves about a 14 or 15% reduction below 2005 levels by 2020, rising up to over an 80% reduction by 2050. The legislation that I referred to a few minutes ago, the so called Waxman-Markey legislation would envision about a 17% reduction from 2005 levels, again ramping up year by year all the way up to over 80% by 2050. So, we will continue working with congress, trying to get legislation passed.
