2009 Women's History Month: Rachel Arndt

Rachel Arndt currently serves as a Senior Management and Program Analyst in the Office of Management Policy, Rightsizing and Innovation (M/PRI). She is responsible for resource management analysis and development of management policies and strategies for funds and positions for the Under Secretary for Management. Her portfolio includes oversight, coordination and analysis activities for consular affairs and information technology issues; management of the M/PRI’s multimillion dollar budget; and special projects, including Coordinator for the Department’s reporting requirements for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Arndt served in other budget and program analyst positions of increasing responsibility within the State Department, including financial plan manager for the State Operations budget of $3.5 billion in the central budget office, and analyst positions in the Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration, and the Bureau of Oceans, Environment and Science. She also served as a management consultant in the Information Technology Capital Planning Office.

Ms. Arndt earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Economics and International Relations in 1985 from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. In May 1995, she received a Master of Arts degree in International Transactions from George Mason University’s International Institute.
