Secretary of State John Kerry traveled to Geneva, Switzerland, on April 16-17 to participate in bilateral meetings and a multilateral meeting among the United States, Ukraine, Russia, and the European Union to discuss the ongoing situation in and around Ukraine.

Secretary Kerry continued efforts to deescalate the situation in Ukraine and find a diplomatic path forward. The United States is committed to mobilizing the international community in support of Ukraine, and helping the Ukrainian people build a stable, democratic and prosperous country.

While in Geneva, Secretary Kerry also met with Joint Special Representative Brahimi to discuss Syria.
