March 24-30, 2014

On March 24, U.S. Department of State, in collaboration with its partners, will kick-off its annual Global Partnerships Week (GP3) celebration in recognition of the critical role public-private partnerships play in promoting diplomacy and development around the world. Under Secretary Kerry’s leadership, the Department has been challenged to “leverage private sector leadership more dramatically than at any time in our history” and create partnerships that generate shared value while inducing real growth and opportunity. GP3 activities and events will serve to encourage the type of creative collaboration that are needed to tackle global challenges while promoting new ideas and recognizing the achievements of existing partnerships.

Global Partnerships Week recognizes public-private partnership practitioners who strive to tackle major global challenges through market and mission-driven partnerships. During one week each March, GP3 inspires public and private organizations everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as shared value collaborators. These activities, from large-scale events to intimate networking gatherings, connect governments, companies, civil society organizations, faith-based organizations, diaspora communities, and academic institutions to potential partners, supporters and solutions providers—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.
