March 9-15, 2015

On March 9, 2015, the U.S. Department of State in collaboration with Concordia and the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will kick-off its annual Global Partnerships Week (GPW) celebration in recognition of the critical role public-private partnerships play in promoting diplomacy and development around the world. During one week each March, GPW inspires public and private organizations everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as shared value collaborators. These activities, from large-scale events to intimate networking gatherings, connect governments, companies, civil society organizations, faith-based organizations, diaspora communities, and academic institutions to potential partners, supporters and solutions providers—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities.

GPW Events and Activities will include:

S/GP will kick-off GPW on March 9, 2015 by convening the first gathering of partnership builders from governments, multilateral organizations, civil society leaders, and private companies at the U.S. Department of State. This new community of partnership practitioners will be known as the Global Partnership Collective and will bring together partnership practitioners and leaders from around the globe and across many disciplines to engage in discussion on the ideas and issues that shape our lives and challenge our times, identify partnership opportunities that address global challenges, and coordinate on collaborative solutions.

Building on the success of its first-ever State of Global Partnerships Report launched in early 2014 which featured the most innovative and scalable public-private partnerships across the U.S. Department of State, S/GP will launch a new partnerships report during GPW which will include the most innovative and scalable public-private partnerships across the USG that aim to strengthen and deepen U.S. diplomacy and development around the world.

S/GP invites agencies to participate in Global Partnerships Week 2015 by supporting or hosting partnership events that foster, support, and highlight the impact of cross-sectorial collaboration. Events may serve to illuminate existing collaborations, as well as potential partnership opportunities for local public, private, and non-governmental organizations. Send S/GP an email to with your partnership event information so that we can highlight them in the week’s event.
