The School of Language Studies (SLS) is happy to welcome all new language students to FSI! SLS is here to support you throughout your language training and we have an abundance of resources to help you succeed in learning the language and culture of your ongoing post.

The general orientation program for those entering language training at FSI will be held Monday, January 5 at 9:00 A.M. Signs outside the Visitors Center will direct you to the orientation room.

New students will need to be processed through the Visitors Center, so please try to arrive early. The cafeteria opens for breakfast at 7:00 A.M. Help Desks will be available between 7:30 A.M. and 9:00 A.M. to help answer questions about transitioning from post to FSI.

During your lunch hour you can take advantage of the Wi-Fi now available in the FSI cafeteria. In addition, food trucks now visit FSI most days. Check the weekly food truck schedule for more information.

Long-term parking fees are $25 per month. Incoming personnel can complete an online parking application form. Parking applications must be approved in order to purchase the monthly passes. Need directions? Learn more about getting to FSI.

If you plan to use the State Department shuttle, please check the eDepartment notice from December 10, 2014 for a link to the schedule. If you have any additional questions please contact us at FSI-Language-Orientation@state.gov.

Welcome to the School of Language Studies. We look forward to working with you!
