WMEAT 2005, the 29th edition of World Military Expenditures and Arms Transfers (WMEAT), covers the years 1995 through 2005. The years 2000 through 2005 were not covered in any previous edition of WMEAT.
WMEAT 2005 and future editions of WMEAT will be published only online, not in hardcopy; the main statistical tables will be published only in Excel spreadsheet format.
WMEAT 2005 consists of a “Highlights and Trends” section, four main statistical tables, and a “Statistical Notes” section that describes sources, data and methods. Table V, “Number of Major Weapons Delivered to Regions and Groups, by Supplier and Weapon Type,” present in previous recent editions of WMEAT through WMEAT 1999-2000, is being discontinued due to lack of suitable data.
